Global Leadership Experts to Address Nigeria’s Leadership Deficit at GOTIN 2024 Conference

By Obioma Appolos, Abuja

World-renowned leadership experts such as Brian Tracy, George C. Fraser, Femi Lazarus, and Dr. Linus Okorie are set to convene in Abuja, Nigeria, for a national leadership conference aimed at addressing the country’s long-standing leadership deficit.

The two-day event, themed “Leadership Capital for Wealth Creation,” will take place from September 20–21, 2024, at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja.

Speaking during a press briefing on Tuesday, Dr. Linus Okorie, Founder of the GOTNI Leadership Centre, highlighted the urgency of the conference, given Nigeria’s current economic, institutional, and social challenges.

He noted that the leadership gap is severely affecting both businesses and families across the country, and emphasized the need for transformative solutions.

“Nigerian businesses and families are struggling due to a significant leadership deficit that must be addressed to ensure meaningful progress,” Okorie stated. “As Nigeria’s economic landscape evolves, equipping citizens with the knowledge and tools to maximize leadership potential and foster financial growth has become essential.”

The 2024 National Leadership Conference will offer participants insights into sustainable wealth creation, leadership development, and strategies for achieving financial growth.

In addition to Brian Tracy, an international authority on leadership and personal success, the conference will feature several high-profile speakers, including George C. Fraser, CEO of FraserNet, Inc.; Dr. Andy Ikekhinde, President of TGC Network Inc.; Michael V. Roberts, JD, Chairman & CEO of The Roberts Companies; Apostle Femi Lazarus, Lead Pastor of Sphere of Light Church; and Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State.

Other notable speakers include Jennifer Adighije, CEO of Niger Delta Power Holding Company; Major General Garba Ayodeji Wahab, Director General of the Nigerian Army Resource Centre; Engr. Obi Uzu, Managing Director of Global Process and Pipeline Services Ltd (GPPSL); Prof. John Kennedy Opara, Chairman of CSS Group; and Nkechi Ali-Balogun, Principal Consultant of NECCI Consulting.

The lineup also includes prominent business leaders such as Dr. Daniel Moses, CEO of Property Wealth Corporation (PWC); Idoko Kingsley Ilonah, CEO of Lona Group; Florence Agogo, Founder of Florence Agogo; Ben Murray-Bruce, Founder of Silverbird Group; Dr. Frank Ugo Ogbuehi, CEO of Hugo Doors; Claudia Lumor, CEO of Glitz Africa Magazine; Gisele Aklobessi, Principal CEO of Lumiere Group International; Mr. Chris Maiyaki, Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Universities Commission; and Linus Okorie, MFR, Founder/CEO of GOTNI Leadership Centre.

According to the event organizers, the leadership crisis in Africa, which has persisted for decades, continues to undermine the continent’s development, despite its abundant natural resources. Okorie stressed that Africa’s crippling debt burden, often driven by foreign loans disguised as aid from Western and Asian countries, is exacerbated by poor leadership and mismanagement of resources.

“The failure to effectively manage Africa’s vast wealth is a direct result of leadership shortcomings, and this has only deepened the continent’s economic challenges,” Okorie noted.
