Stalwarts of the People Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday, 29 March, 2021, staged a thank-you rally in Aba, the commercial hub of Abia State, to appreciate Aba people for voting their candidate, Hon. Chimaobi Ebisike, who won the last Saturday’s bye-election for the Aba North/ Aba South Federal Constituency elections in the State.

During the rally, youths of Abia State demanded from Senator Orji Uzo Kalu, a former governor of the state an unreserved apology over over his comments that Osusu road in Aba which was recently reconstructed and commissioned by Dr Okezie Ikpeazu’s current government, was done by the Niger Delta Commission(NDDC).

Speaking during the procession of the rally, a member of the National Assembly green chamber, representing Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency, Darlington Nwokocha, said the solidarity rally became imperative to reinforce the harmony, unity and love that exist among Ngwa people which was proven by what he described as “loud statement” made by the people last weekend, during the election.

He noted that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s sterling performance at Aba gave rise to the confidence bestowed on the party by the people and promised better days ahead.

Also, Hon. Aaron Uzodike, a PDP Abia State House of Assembly member, representing Aba North State Constituency, said that the victory underscores the people’s acceptance of the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s administration and a reaffirmation of their confidence on him.

On his part, Mr Erondu Uchenna Erondu, a youth advocate, expressed displeasure against Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu’s claims that roads built by the Ikpeazu administration was done by the federal Government and demanded for the contract papers which he said must be produced by the former Governor,to justify his claims.

According to Him, if Kalu fails to provide the evidence before the expiration of 7 days, he must apologize to Abians and the Governor after which the state would be declared inaccessible by him.

Aba, the commercial nerve centre of Abia State stood still on Monday 29th March, 2021 as the ruling People’s Democratic Party trooped out in their numbers to celebrate the victory of one of their own at the just conducted bye election for Aba North/South Federal Constituency, Chimaobi Ebisike.

They went on a peaceful procession round the city of Aba in what they tagged “Show of Force” to particularly thank the people of Aba for seeing their party and candidate worthy of election to represent them at the green chambers.
