The Communications Commission of the Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja, has joined the long list of organisations and individuals to commiserate with the Nigeria media community and the Dokpesi’s family over the sudden death of High Chief Raymond Dokpesi on Democracy Day.
Contained in a statement signed by the Secretary of the Commission, Bro. Christopher Chukwuma Nzeh, the Commission expressed sadness over the media guru’s death, noting that the late High Chief was a very supportive partner of the Church in Africa and beyond.
The statement said; “The Catholic Communications Commission of the Abuja Archdiocese under on behalf of the units under the Commission Commiserates with the media industry, and the family of Late media mogul, High Chief Raymond Anthony Aleogho Dokpesi, who laid his life in his quest for a better democracy and good governance in Nigeria, on 29th May, 2023.
“He was a very supportive partner of the Abuja Archdiocese and Catholic Church at large in the quest to evangelize to the Church in Africa and beyond, but we find solace in his love for God and the fact that he lived an impactful life, worthy of emulation, most importantly in the global media space, as the pioneer founder of independent Radio/ Television in the most populated country in Africa, a feat he sustained till date unwaveringly.
“We pray that the good Lord would grant his immediate family, the media and Daar Communications, the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. May his soul find rest in the bosom of the good Lord. Amen.”
