PTAD Kickstart ‘I Am Alive’ Training Exercise For Pensioners’ Unions, PDOs Today

Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate (PTAD), on Monday 20 June, 2022 said it has concluded plans to commence a training program for pensioners’ unions and Pension Desk Officers of the Directorate as part of its preparations to kickstart its planned “I Am Alive” verification exercise of pensioners.

The training exercise according to information made available to journalists in Abuja by PTAD’s Head Corporate Communication, Mr Olugbenga Ajayi, will start today 21st June, 2022 in Abuja.

Earlier, the Executive Secretary of PTAD, Dr. Chioma Ejikeme, met with the newly elected Executive members of the National Association of Retired Paramilitary Officers (NARPO), led by the President, Alhaji Musa Kayode, who were on a courtesy visit to the ES.

According to the President of the Association, the purpose of the visit was to introduce themselves to the Executive Secretary after their election, and solicit the same support and collaboration the Executive Secretary had extended to the past Executives, while promising to serve as worthy intermediaries between PTAD and its members.

The Executive Secretary in her remarks, welcomed them to the Directorate and extended her appreciation to NARPO for their patience and the disciplined manner in which they conduct themselves even when they have some complaints yet unresolved by the Directorate.

Dr. Ejikeme further assured them of President Muhammadu Buhari’sunprecedented commitment to the welfare of pensioners.

The PTAD boss also used the opportunity to remind the pensioners of the Directorate’s zero-tolerance to pension fraud, and reiterated that no staff of the Directorate would call and request for payment from a pensioner before rendering a service. Pensioners are therefore urged to report such fraudulent phone calls to PTAD.

End.
