Against the usual gory news about African countries, the United Nations has praised the continent for her enormous contribution of troops to its peacekeeping missions across the world.
Specifically, the UN mentioned that the continent’s contribution among other personnel includes 2/3 women peacekeepers and the majority of UN Police.
The world giant watchdog, delightfully said that the service and sacrifice of the countries towards ensuring peace around the world is highly cherished.
Tweeted at its tweeter handle @UN.2h and shared with @AntonioGuterres at #AUsummit peacekeeping.un.org/en/service#ServinforPeace, the tweet said; “African countries provides nearly 1/2 UN peacekeeping troops worldwide, including 2/3s of women peacekeepers & the majority of UN Police. Their service and sacrifice are always at the forefront of our minds.”
