Media professionals and their entire Newsrooms should not work in silos but collaborate more by following up on the reports published by other media organisations and by forming networks or coalitions to collectively work on particular story ideas. This is besides taking full advantage of social media handles.” “Media professionals should familiarize themselves with, cite and draw strength from sister instruments from other international organisations such as the ECOWAS Regional Action Plan on the Elimination of the worst forms of Child Labour in the fight against the menace.

Instead of Swallowing Hook..
Instead of swallowing hook, line and sinker sinister loans from neoliberal organizations, the NEC urged the Nigerian government to accept the challenge of home-grown economic development anchored on investments in education, public health, research, public works, social welfare, and support for the real sectors of the economy including small and medium scale enterprises. The NEC particularly urged government to ensure proper synergy and coordination of research initiatives and efforts in Nigeria

ABA IS MY HOME!
Aba is my home. But it goes beyond that. It is the economic center of our state and Ala Igbo in general. Aba houses everyone and they make their money in Aba and help to develop other parts of the state and our region. I will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the town gets the required attention.
Okezie Ikpeazu,
Governor, Abia State
We Are Fast Drifting to the Precipice
We are fast drifting to the precipice. Inexorably. Asphixiatingly. Bleedingly. There may be no country called Nigeria in the foreseeable future if someone does not wake up President Buhari from his deep slumber and self-denial.

The View Point of Development
We cannot as a people be looking at development from ethnic or religious point of view. When you go to the market, I don’t think there is Christian or Muslim market or Igbo market or Fulani market. So government must take up the challenge and do much more to ensure that all Nigerians is given a sense of belonging in Nigeria and for Nigeria project. This is very important.

Policies & Programmes
One of the problems we have regarding our policies and programmes is lack of implementation. I can tell you that government has beautiful templates and policies regarding infrastructures. But the question is, when you come up with all these beautiful blueprints how serious, how hard are working to ensure that the beautiful policies become implemented?

The Drive
“The drive that a young Nigerian has to carry a sewing machine or the stuffs used to fix shoes and walks around looking for business, tells you that there is something distinctively different. Now, how has does government nurture that enthusiasm that is already there, the entrepreneurial spirit that is already there, the drive that is already there in the young Nigerian, by providing an enabling environment for them to be able to grow.”
Dennis Zulu
ILO Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Lone Countries Director
Hustling in Nigeria
“In Nigeria you say hustle, that itself shows the uniqueness that young Nigerians will not sit back and wait for government to make a difference for their lives. I see young Nigerians carrying sewing machines on their shoulder looking for business but in other place the young person will sit with his sewing machine at the house waiting for customers to come and they won’t come. That is not the case of the Nigerian people…It is amazing!”
